The reigning Queen

Her talent lets her tease and then delight
She dazzles or illuminates at will.
Some poems may be blacker than the night
Still others serve to titillate or thrill

Her rhymes are sharp as any razor blade
All forms lie slain before her mighty pen
Is hers the greatest skill that’s been displayed
Since Bill took up his quill to write again?

I know she’ll grow to greater heights in time
Each verse reveals another depth explored
And now she shines in free as well as rhyme
No work of hers can ever be ignored

Amera is the goddess all agree
The reigning Queen of formal poetry
