The Rose of Love

I think that love is like a desert rose,
So delicate yet strong enough to thrive.
In barren soil no other beauty grows
But such a rose can make a man alive.
Responsive to a gardener’s tender touch,
Rewarding to a man who spends the time,
A single bloom that offers you so much,
Each moment with a rose will be sublime.
The desert rose is also passion’s flower;
Its subtle scent will lead a man astray.
Avoid the thorns and you will feel the power,
The desert rose will always point the way.
The gift of love is beautiful and rare —
A desert rose won’t grow just anywhere.
