Three sisters casting fortunes on the heath
Macbeth and Banquo chance upon the scene
Macbeth’s ambition gives their words some teeth
The Scottish crown cast deep in a ravine

A dagger hangs before the villain’s eyes
A spectre of the act he will perform
The sleeping king is slaughtered where he lies
The castle rocked beneath a dreadful storm

Macbeth is crowned but soon his crown has slipped
And Banquo’s ghost appears to tell him so
Macduff, not born, but from his mother ripped
Arrives to force the regicide to go

The tale of kings each cursed a different way
Retold in Shakespeare’s most accursed play
