Each story has to find itself a writer
And whisper in their ear until it’s done,
The burden they inherit getting lighter
As line by line the narrative is spun.

Each new spawned tale grows slowly through the ages,
It gathers characters and hidden nooks,
Until it knows it’s ready for the pages
Of one new author’s still unwritten books.

A universe of wand’ring orphaned stories
Exists for those who listen to their dreams —
So close your eyes and write the hidden glories
That you can fish from lost nocturnal streams.

And when you’re done put down your faithful pen
Then is the time to dream your dreams again.
