The Train Makes the Strain!

How long can any train stand stationary
While cramped and grumbling workers curse their fate?
When it departed twenty minutes late
She wished she hadn’t had that mug of tea.
If she’s walked home she might have found a tree,
To crouch behind while nature took its course,
With sweet relief arriving at full force –
She wished she hadn’t had that mug of tea.
The train arrives but still she needs to pee –
The struggle through the crowd is far from fun,
The slow walk home becomes a desperate run.
She wished she hadn’t had that mug of tea!
How long can any train stand stationary?
She wished she hadn’t had that mug of tea!
Author notes
An echo sonnet, this one done “pure” I often like to develop the last line of
each stanza and it might be fun here
How long can any train stand stationary
While cramped and grumbling workers curse their fate?
When it departed twenty minutes late
She wished she hadn’t had that mug of tea.
If she’s walked home she might have found a tree,
To crouch behind while nature took its course,
With sweet relief arriving at full force –
It seems much more than just one mug of tea.
The train arrives but still she needs to pee –
The struggle through the crowd is far from fun,
The slow walk home becomes a desperate run.
And finally there’s room for much more tea!
How long can any train stand stationary?
She wished she hadn’t had that mug of tea!
