A simple soldier sets the stage today
His rival moves and everything is go
A shining knight may carry you away
And then His Grace is putting on a show
A castle on a jumbo goes to war
But I can counter with a sacrifice
An ordered march it’s fatal to ignore
Is met by preparation and device
Ignoring feints and all attempts at sleight
Inconsequential battles put aside
The final target now within my sight
No refuge left where royalty may hide
You throw the board and then you deign to speak
“All right! You win! I’m washing up this week!”
