Unblemished

I saw you in the park that summer day,
A single perfect rose amongst the weeds.
Too beautiful to grace a mere bouquet,
A face to answer any poet’s needs.
I can’t forget the way you seem to shine
And waves of people part to let you through.
Your looks are like a taste of vintage wine,
No other woman can compare to you.
A single kiss from you would set me free
But I shall stay my hand and quell desire.
Such beauty should be there for all to see,
I shall not be the one to quench your fire.
To pluck a perfect rose would be a crime
So I may only witness the sublime.
