Unwanted Extras

But why is there more packaging than thing,
In almost everything I try to buy?
On every journey home I’m forced to bring
Enough unwanted guff to make me cry.
And even worse the guff is bulletproof,
So what I’ve bought is locked away from me.
I have to drop the package off the roof
To give my splendid purchase liberty.
A tattered head with tousled tufts of hair,
Ten twisted fingers bleeding on the floor,
A wistful look that verges on despair,
Betray a man who can’t take any more.
For everything the gods have given me —
Just let me get a biscuit for my tea!
