Ups and Downs of life

Some days are days you wish you could forget
Some nights are not the nights you wish to dream
It could be life or love that makes regret
And work or play that took away the gleam
When everything you do extends your plight
Frustration can impair the sweetest taste
A failure makes the moon seem half as bright
And suddenly the day becomes a waste
Tomorrow though will be a better day
Half empty cups again will be half full
Perhaps our lives have always been this way
Or maybe I’ve just said a load of bull!
If there weren’t plains and dark and dingy creeks
There’d be a lousy view from mountain peaks
