Waiting

No one in the world can love the waiting
Anxiety can kill the best of days
Time we have to waste in contemplating
The darkest ends to all the blackest ways
Time itself the enemy of leisure
Until it passes none can find their ease
When worry blocks the thought of any pleasure
The mightiest are forced down to their knees
At last you hear that news will soon be breaking
Relief is sighted, hope is now on hand
The loved one that you miss may soon be waking
To give us all some words to understand
There is no way to ease the mental strain
Of waiting for the news of other’s pain
