He said that she should wait he would return
With all he’d need to paint her perfect form
To her it seemed an easy way to earn
The studio was nicely light and warm
She draped the props about her lazily
The money he would pay already spent
She only heard the warnings hazily
About the girls who came but never went
He brought his paints and set about the task
She’d never seen his work put out on show
Too foolish in her pride to even ask
Too ignorant of art to ever know
His latest work appeared to much acclaim
Too bad she didn’t live to share the fame
