What is this life …

What is this life …

I look around and see so many scurry
They try to be as busy as a bee
But what’s so wrong with taking time to worry
It’s really the most human way to be.

Philosophers may say all life is waiting
Until you die and simply fade away
I think both sides are clearly understating
The value of the mundane day-to-day

I’ve walked up hills and marvelled at the beauty
Of valley views where sheep and rivers run
But doing this won’t make me proud and snooty
A sun-drenched doze brings other poets fun.

Some moments of my life were made to treasure
But others I’d discard with utmost pleasure
