I have a rule for every day
That helps to keep the blues at bay
Whatever other voices say
It’s “only good days count”
My life is thus a sea of smiles
(though some are isolated isles)
But every memory beguiles
Since only good days count
We start the game without a score
Our bottoms settled on the floor
And every moment adds some more
As only good days count
This way to play means I must win
It gives my life a better spin
And you’ll agree when you begin
To only count good days
