What the hell is liberty?

Each age must ask what liberty can mean
Are absolutes all absolutely wrong?
An act that I would label as obscene
May be another’s way to get along.
What is a universal human right?
Pursuing happiness and living free?
An act that brings some people great delight
Maybe appears as slavery to me.
The anarchist says every rule is bad
Dictatorships define all rules as good
But both of them make common people sad
They wish they’d find another neighbourhood
Good laws are made to balance strong and weak
And every age must have the chance to speak
