Where the roses sing

A day of summer sunshine, and an evening curled with you
In a garden where the roses sing of love.
We can share a little wine and then find something else to do
While the blackbird serenades us from above
When you’ve walked all through the sunlight and the evening goes as planned
There is something that a poet needs to write
If I kept you for my treasure then the world would understand
And I hope that I can treasure you tonight
For a perfect day together and a perfect evening too
Means a perfect night is all that you require
So I’m dreaming in my evening that my night will be with you
And the roses sing the songs of my desire
Author notes
Paul McCartney said “some people want to fill the world with silly love songs”
I just want to fill it with love poems.
