The Limerick’s beat, anapaestic
Makes even the mundane seem drastic
This clean one is boring
And well worth ignoring
But filthy ones can be fantastic!
Iambic’s a classical meter
But sometimes a change can be sweeter
The extra beats bringing
A tone that’s more swinging
But can it become a World beater?
While much of my verse is moronic
My need for more talent is chronic
I’m prosody’s trinket
Though you may not think it
My favourite form is paeonic!
