We live in an enormous universe
That is ruled by the laws of chance
The weirdest things can happen
Like married men who dance
If you live a billion lifetimes
And cross a trillion miles
You may find a single teenager
Who, for no good reason, smiles
The further and the deeper
We reach out into space
We may find that there’s another
Softer, kinder, human race.
And if we go still further
Beyond where telescopes can see
There may even be a planet
Where the girls all fancy me!
