A daydream

\nIt\u2019s fun to think, on a rainy day
\nOf people and things that are far away
\nI imagine you\u2019re lying asleep in a bed
\nDreaming sweet dreams in a beautiful head<\/p>\n
I\u2019m in an office with work I must do
\nBut I\u2019ll sit down and write a poem for you
\nIf the wishes of poets weren\u2019t routinely denied
\nI\u2019d not be in the office but in bed by your side<\/p>\n
You lie on the pillow, a smile lights your face
\nYour hair has spread out like a mantle of lace
\nUnder the sheet, there\u2019s a soft lovely form
\nThat I long to touch it\u2019s so lovely and warm<\/p>\n
Soon you will stir, and you\u2019ll wake from your rest
\nA yawn and a stretch may uncover your breast
\nI know that my presence won\u2019t cause you alarm
\nAs part of my wish you\u2019ll be tender and calm<\/p>\n
Alas now I find that my tea is all gone
\nSo I\u2019ve no more excuse and I better get on
\nCaressing a goddess, as she wakes in her bed
\nIs just a daydream that is filling my head<\/p>\n
Maybe a bit later my dream can resume
\nAnd once more I\u2019ll have you alone in your room
\nMy pleasure in dreaming will be more complete
\nWhen more than one breast has emerged from the sheet<\/p>\n
As I\u2019m in an office with colleagues all round
\nThis dream better wait until privacy\u2019s found
\nThe time that this poem has idled away
\nHas left me a smile, that will last my whole day<\/p>\n
And if I should meet you, I hope I don\u2019t blush
\nAs the thought of this dream comes back in a rush
\nI doubt that I\u2019ll see you alone in your bed
\nBut that is the image I want in my head
