\nFree verse is fine, if really good
\nIf you can write that way you should
\nBut there’s one thing, and you should know it
\nWithout metre and rhyme, you just ain’t a poet!
\n“Rhyme is too cramping, stifles the muse”
\nThe free verse writers are bound to accuse.
\nBut all it may mean if you can’t write a rhyme
\nIs you don’t know the words, or you don’t spend the time.
\nMillions of words make English the Queen
\nThe finest invention, communication machine
\nHundreds of phonemes, so rhymings abound
\nWhat ever you say, then a rhyme can be found.
\nFrom Shakespeare to Belloc and Chaucer to me
\nFrom the best to the worst, we all do it you see
\nSo if you’re a poet, and the jobs worth your time
\nThen stop writing prose, and start writing rhyme!

\nOption Alpha – premium rhyming poems which utterly bash the “art” of free
\nverse,
\nOK it’s not really a bash, and I do like some free verse, but I so rarely see
\nthe difference between free verse and prose. I like prose!
\nBut then perhaps the best rhymer of all time was W S Gilbert, and the Limerick
\nis the rhyming poetry best know to man, he wrote<\/p>\n

\nWho was stung in the arm by a wasp
\nWhen asked if it hurt
\nHe replied no it doesn’t
\nI’m so glad it wasn’t a hornet!<\/p>\n
