\nMy youngest child was gravely ill at six.
\nBy far the worst of times that I have known.
\nThere are no words to say, could ever fix,
\nThe torture that within my heart had grown.<\/p>\n
I had worked away for several days.
\nBefore the mobile phone was always there,
\nThrough the door I walked in dreadful daze,
\nWhen my eldest son made me aware.<\/p>\n
In just a week he’ll cease to be a child,
\nCancer now a shadow in his past.
\nLike any teenage boy he’s free and wild,
\nA state that I just hope will always last.<\/p>\n
To science and the doctors that we knew,
\nFor my boys life can I just say “Thank-you”.<\/p>\n
