{"id":2384,"date":"2023-11-26T20:31:31","date_gmt":"2023-11-26T20:31:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nicewaistcoat.com\/wordpress\/?page_id=2384"},"modified":"2023-11-28T22:53:32","modified_gmt":"2023-11-28T22:53:32","slug":"pervirtuoso","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/nicewaistcoat.com\/wordpress\/p-poems\/pervirtuoso\/","title":{"rendered":"PerVirtuoso"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> PerVirtuoso<br \/>\nby cricketjeff on February 7, 2008.\u00a0 \u00a9 Jeff Green, All rights reserved<br \/>\nAllan&#8217;s comic verse is great<br \/>\nHe lays the joke out on a plate<br \/>\nAnd leaves his readers to their fate<br \/>\nAnd always with a smile<\/p>\n<p>He likes to write in any form<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s hard to say what is his norm<br \/>\nDeep and dark or rich and warm<br \/>\nHe leaves us with a smile<\/p>\n<p>He thinks his rhyme is pretty good<br \/>\nAnd yes it is and so he should<br \/>\nCompared with mine it&#8217;s made of wood!<br \/>\nI hope that makes him smile<\/p>\n<p>Ancient forms to modern ends<br \/>\nBucking all the latest trends<br \/>\nChallenging to all his friends<br \/>\nHe likes to make them smile<\/p>\n<p>Allan likes a complex meter<br \/>\nCrisp and dry not softer, sweeter<br \/>\nEither way a boredom beater<br \/>\nAnd that is worth a smile<\/p>\n<p>He doesn&#8217;t give in to pretence<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s hard to make him take offence<br \/>\nOh sod-it I&#8217;ll jump off the fence<br \/>\nThe bugger makes me smile!<br \/>\n Author notes<br \/>\nI have few favourites although I read a great many poets here.
