\nWhen lust for gold falls on a man he’ll travel far and wide
\nBut rarely does he think to take a woman on his ride
\nNow Rosalie’s a lady who can see a perfect chance
\nSets out to travel West with girls, who’ll sing and love and dance<\/p>\n
Her Father was a Minister who preached a moral line
\nBut Rosalie’s of different cloth she seeks a life that’s fine.
\nShe knows that men will pay to see a lady’s smiling face
\nAnd if they pay for something else, it’s really no disgrace.<\/p>\n
She builds a bar and keeps it clean, the men must show respect.
\nThe ladies who will work for her will never know neglect
\nEach man who comes must wash and shave, or not get through the door.
\nAnother thing to bear in mind, is none of them are poor!<\/p>\n
A man strikes gold and wants a wife, so goes to Rosalie;
\nA girl for life or just one night, she’ll find and charge a fee.
\nAnd no-one minds her history, all girls are valued here;
\nTo find a wife without a past you’d have to walk a year.<\/p>\n
The sheriff never interferes, he’s paid to look away
\nAnd Rosalie rewards him with her love each Saturday.
\nAnd when the hills are stripped of gold she’ll start another life.
\nWith all the money she has made, she’ll make a perfect wife.<\/p>\n
The girls will always think of her with love and fondest thanks,
\nAs all of them have husbands and deposits in their banks.
\nSo many towns were founded by the likes of Rosalie
\nBut services they gave the West are missed from history.<\/p>\n
For men with guns killed Indians, and all the buffalo
\nBut the real winners of the West are never put on show.
\nFor men alone can’t build a state, it’s wives that set men free.
\nSo join us in the song we sing “Three cheers for Rosalie!!!”<\/p>\n
