The stuff of life (and tea)

\nHydrogen hydroxide is the very stuff of life
\nWith it’s tendency to cluster and to split
\nThe hydrogens are labile far less faithful than a wife
\nAnd they love to gad about a little bit<\/p>\n
It’s rare to find a molecule that doesn’t have a mate
\nThey stick around in threes or fours or more
\nWith anomolous bond distances when in the solid state
\nThey make a lovely splashing on the floor<\/p>\n
The pretty shapes the crystals form can decorate a tree
\nOr piled up high get formed into a drift
\nIf it wasn’t for these properties there’s be no you and me
\nSo without a little water I’d be miffed<\/p>\n
Oxonium dihydride, as it’s almost never called
\nIs the liquid that I need to make some tea
\nSo I’m grateful to this molecule as I’d really be appalled
\nIf there was no way to make some tea for me!<\/p>\n
