\nEcstatic explosions of shimmering white;
\nDescending and dashing in sounds out of Hell,
\nDestroying and building a staggering sight
\nWith element easily held in a well.
\nThe forces of nature as never contained
\nRefuse all demands that they should be constrained.<\/p>\n
Imperial majesty plunging to doom,
\nUnstoppable force boasting beauty undreamt.
\nA halo of colour that shines above gloom,
\nSurrounded by jungles of gardens, unkempt.
\nThe beauty the gods see, each night, as they sleep
\nIs lost to the world in a chasm so deep.<\/p>\n
No man-made construction can rival the power
\nOf the surges and urges of seasons of rain.
\nIt starts with a patter of innocent shower
\nAnd ends at a lake that a river must drain.
\nThe greatest of marvels that scatter the Earth
\nAre the falls and the forces that water its girth.<\/p>\n
In all of the continents peopled by man;
\nBeneath crashing clouds that are mothers to might,
\nThe rivers have sculpted the mapmakers plan
\nBy carving through mountains that rise overnight.
\nFrom streams through to torrents to rivers like seas,
\nThe daughters of raindrops bring rocks to their knees.<\/p>\n
The waters of nature hold visions sublime
\nUnmatched by the paintings that artists have framed.
\nIt’s only the poet in free verse or rhyme
\nCan equal the waterfall’s beauty untamed.
\nEach colour and pattern that’s conjured from light
\nIs matched by the works in which Winklings delight.<\/p>\n
