The lords of night

\nIn times before the world was changed
\nIn lands we never knew
\nTwo mighty armies were arranged
\nTo give their foes their due
\nThe banners that the troops unfurled
\nShowed all the kings of all the world<\/p>\n
In silver helms with coal black shields
\nThe lords of night stood tall
\nThey’d come in ships from foreign fields
\nTo make the rest seem small
\nTheir King was known as George the Wild
\nHe’d fought a Sphynx when but a child<\/p>\n
The men of Dree stormed like the sea
\nAnd occupied one hill
\nThey all were free and liberty
\nWould guide their passion still
\nWithout a King they fought for right
\nAgainst those dreadful lords of night<\/p>\n
The Tritons and the mermaids too
\nWere gathered by the lake
\nTheir archery would kill a few
\nNo prisoners to take
\nTheir Queen was tall and brave and fair
\nA Helm of gold was all she’d wear<\/p>\n
Before the Lords the Trolls stood fast
\nEach stronger than a tree
\nThey job to blunt the first great blast
\nThen eat the best of Dree
\nTheir swords were huge and made of stone
\nA troll was worth three men alone<\/p>\n
The Elves would stand beside the men
\nDefiant clad in white
\nTheir aren’t as many now as when
\nThey fought against the night
\nWould silver swords see out the day
\nWhen all these armies start to play<\/p>\n
A bugle call a headlong charge
\nAnd arrows filled the air
\nOn iron shod feet on orphants large
\nThere’s fighting everywhere
\nThe dragons and the eagles dive
\nIt’s hard to tell who’s still alive<\/p>\n
The armies of two hundred kings
\nThe demons and the rest
\nAll fought the fights the minstrel sings
\nTo see who’d prove the best
\nThe trolls were first to cut and run
\nThe final victory begun<\/p>\n
The lords of night were brave and grim
\nThe men of Dree were true
\nThe allies fought while days grew dim
\nAnd blood ran red and blue
\nThe elves and freemen held their ground
\nWhile good and evil died all round<\/p>\n
We’ll never see them fight again
\nTo many died that day
\nThe ground was broken by the pain
\nThe past was torn away
\nOur Earth is but a passing shade
\nOf all the glories then unmade<\/p>\n
In dreams you see the men of Dree
\nThe elves the mermaids too
\nThe world they left is still not free
\nThey’ve left that up to you
\nSo if you want all that is right
