\nBeware the beauty of the night
\nShe comes to spread her dread disease
\nSo go in fright<\/p>\n
Rakshasa lure the bravest men
\nTo follow them beneath their trees
\nThe depth of passion strikes and then
\nThe dread disease<\/p>\n
He met a girl surpassing fair
\nAnd courted her for many days
\nThe palest skin the darkest hair
\nAnd sultry ways<\/p>\n
He followed her beyond the gates
\nWhere they would be alone a while
\nAnd hope to learn the higher states
\nIn sutra style<\/p>\n
She slowly stripped before his eyes
\nAnd he was captured by the scene
\nHer beauty was a bold disguise
\nHer soul was mean<\/p>\n
She washed across him like a flood
\nThis was a tale he’d never tell
\nIn heaven until she drained his blood
\nHe’s now in hell!<\/p>\n

\nFrom Hindu myths and tales, Rakshasa are beautiful, have fangs they can hide
\nand live in trees where they spy out their victims. If you are bitten by one
\nyou will either join them or die a horrible death of a stomach disease.<\/p>\n
My tale is freely adapted from a story one of my friends was told by his
\ngrandmother as a young child.
