\nI wonder why it makes some people fume
\nWhen Occam’s Razor cuts them down to size
\nIt’s quite a silly thing if you assume
\nComplexity’s the answer to your whys<\/p>\n
Copernicus observed the simple fact
\nThat Jupiter and Mars went to and fro
\nTo make their motion smooth a simple act
\nThe geocentric system had to go<\/p>\n
It’s obvious to all, except a few
\nYou look at what you see then simplify
\nInstinctively young children know its true
\nThe complex tale just has to be the lie<\/p>\n
A fabulous invention may be fun
\nBut isn’t going to be how life was spun<\/p>\n
Simplicity will always be your friend
\nIf you’ve a mind to find the ways things go
\nJust look at facts not lots of lets pretend
\nIt’s all about the things that you can know<\/p>\n
You postulate a theory in your head
\nWhat it predicts you test against the facts
\nYou cut out all the rubbish that you’ve said
\nAnd take away the story that distracts<\/p>\n
If you were right what’s left is near the truth
\nAnd other minds will build on what you found
\nWhat seemed to be the arrogance of youth
\nWill then be seen as basic and profound<\/p>\n
Until a mind that’s clearer than your own
\nReveals a truth beyond what you have shown<\/p>\n
