In Spring’s Final Snow

\nA crocus nods above the snow
\nA yellow flash on winter white
\nIt sees all that there is to know<\/p>\n
The poet sits to see the scene
\nAnd paints a picture so serene
\nHis eyes see beauty all around
\nThe pristine white that coats the ground<\/p>\n
He misses what the crocus sees
\nPossessing superficial sight
\nThe Earth has caught a dread disease<\/p>\n
The snow can hide what man has brought
\nThe blight his arrogance has wrought
\nThe crocus knows his kin are dead
\nA fly tip standing in their stead<\/p>\n

\nNot a form I know, nor one I think I shall grow to love. but I have done my
\nbest, I believe this is the “French” form, I have used iambic tetrameter though
\nin French of course the meter is much softer.<\/p>\n
