\nIs emptiness a nat’ral state of mind
\nWhen you can’t see the change from night to day
\nHow can you leave the tragedy behind?<\/p>\n
She promised you eternity and more
\nAnd now she’s left and stolen all your light
\nA promise made to honour and adore
\nIs turned into a rather curt “good night”<\/p>\n
Yet like a fool you’ll start the game again
\nYou’ll bite the bait and find that you are hooked
\nUnmindful of the certainty of pain
\nFor love ensures the future’s overlooked<\/p>\n
We mortals play to entertain our gods
\nAnd all of them are really rotten sods!
