\nA silver crescent smiling in the pale blue evening sky,
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 With sunset still a half an hour away.
\nThe beauty of the night appears to prove she isn’t shy;
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 For she can steal a heart as well by day.
\nAnd you, my love, are like the Moon you shine all day and night;
\nThere’ll never be a moment when I’d wish you out of sight.<\/p>\n
The wisps of white that fleck the blue now grow a golden fringe,
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 And peachlight fills the palette of the West.
\nThe twilight groans in slowly, like a creaking ancient hinge,
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 And swallows dance before they go to rest.
\nAnd you, my love, spread colour too, you paint away the grey
\nThat used to fill each moment till sweet Cupid came to stay.<\/p>\n
The blackbird sings his praises to his lady, and his gods,
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 The day will soon explode before his eyes.
\nA collared dove is cooing and a lime tree gentle nods,
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 In Spring each sunset brings its own surprise.
\nAnd you, my love, surprise me with the laughter on your face,
\nI never guessed at happiness when you were not in place.<\/p>\n
It’s time at last, the final blast, arrives in every hue,
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Apollo shows mere mortals how it’s done.
\nHe’s painted pure perfection, pulling reds and golds from blue,
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 A riotous display that sings of fun.
\nAnd you, my love, can match him with a brush against your lips,
\nYou’re the Moon inside my Sunset you’re the nectar nature sips.<\/p>\n
