Celebrating in Style (The Bindybandy way)

\nIn Bindybandy-on-the-Sand
\nA celebration feast is planned
\nThe invitations have been sent
\nThe tables ordered, and a tent
\nThe band will play from ten to four
\n(They know three tunes, so that’s a bore!)<\/p>\n
The people mill expectantly
\nFrom rather after ten to three
\nIt rained last night, the ground is damp
\nBut drier than the army camp.
\nGood natured games of throw the child
\nStop hungry hoards from turning wild<\/p>\n
By six the crowd have stopped the band
\n(They buried us neck deep in sand)
\nThey’ve changed their happy attitude
\nAnd started yelling “Serve the food!!!”
\nThey don’t detect much cooking smell,
\nInside the tent things don’t go well<\/p>\n
The Queen was busy, so she says,
\nAnd blames her staff for lazy ways
\nThe staff say “Nay, it’s not for us;
\nWe asked the driver of the bus”
\nThe driver isn’t there tonight
\nThat wise man knew there’d be a fight<\/p>\n
The problem now identified
\nThey’re barricaded up inside
\nThe planning stage did not include
\nThe thought they ought to order food
\nThey searched the Queendom high and low
\nAs far away as Dong-on-Bow<\/p>\n
An answer falls from Maisie’s lips
\nSend out for ninety cod and chips
\nAnd well before the crowd are dead
\nTwo thirds of them are quickly fed
\nThe chips are great, the fish is grand
\nIn Bindybandy-on-the-Sand<\/p>\n

\nBindybandy, I am sure you all know, is the smallest country on Earth with more
\nthan twelve land borders. Squeezed between Congo and Kazakhstan on the East and
\nCalifornia and Georgia on the West, it has a very dry temperate climate, when
\ncompared to Newfoundland.
