\nThe service that I pay for says the roads ahead are clear;
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 My eyes, which came for free, say they are not.
\nAnd the Sat Nav that’s so clever says that home is getting near,
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 A little common sense says that’s all rot!
\nEverybody thought today would be a perfect day it seems
\nTo go boating, visit Granny or just set out after dreams.<\/p>\n
The cars are moving slowly like a crocodile in pain
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 And tempers all around are getting short.
\nSo we sing some silly songs we know that help relieve the strain
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 And shoot road-signs with a laser pen for sport.
\nEverybody in the country went down West to spend the day,
\nThen en masse the British Public chose right now to get away.<\/p>\n
Is he drunk or merely foolish maybe chatting on the phone
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 As he zigs and zags across more than one lane.
\nOn the other side a zombie clearly settled in the zone
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 Thinks that driving in his sleep will bring more gain.
\nEverybody would go faster if they didn’t dodge about
\nSwapping lanes and over-revving only makes more people shout.<\/p>\n
There are roadworks, a misnomer, and an accident or three
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 And police and fire engine “blues and twos”.
\nSome just sit and fume in silence, others dodge about to see
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 But the radio won’t give us any news.
\nJust a hundred miles of torture then the tide of traffic parts
\nAnd we’re home and drinking tea before the cricket highlights starts!<\/p>\n
