One of those days

\nUnfolding on the bed, she smiles –
\n\u00a0 Temptation to the toes.
\nHer waterfall of hair beguiles –
\n\u00a0 I kiss her on the nose.
\nA little laughter breaks the spell,
\nI think I’ve tempted her as well.<\/p>\n
A bottom followed up the stair
\n\u00a0 Can sing of happy days
\nAnd when it joins you on a chair
\n\u00a0 You think of other plays.
\nAn arm around her waist, a kiss,
\nReturned before, “enough of this.”<\/p>\n
The way her lips caress the food,
\n\u00a0 She watches me and eats.
\nEach mouthful savoured as it’s chewed
\n\u00a0 Her eyes the promised sweets.
\nDessert though isn’t on the way,
\nAnother course, another day.<\/p>\n
She laughs, we shop, her fingers squeeze
\n\u00a0 They’re off to find the price;
\nAnother move designed to tease,
\n\u00a0 “Oh look, that’s rather nice”
\nThose boots, that coat but NOT the shorts;
\nI guess that is a dress of sorts …<\/p>\n
It’s time to go, the afternoon
\n\u00a0 Is nearly half consumed,
\nMy daydreams will be over soon
\n\u00a0 Or that’s what I’ve assumed,
\nBut then I find the perfect gift
\nWhich gives today a special lift.<\/p>\n
It’s back to work, there’s things to fix
\n\u00a0 But first a fond embrace,
\nMy heart’s performing circus tricks
\n\u00a0 As pulses start to race.
\n“No time for that” we have to go
\nHer words are like a mortal blow.<\/p>\n
How long can goodbye kisses last,
\n\u00a0 How long can hugs be held,
\nToo soon those thoughts are in the past,
\n\u00a0 The moment is dispelled.
\nSuch teasing days are hard to find
