The dangers of eating ice-cream

\nThey were sitting eating ice-cream when she looked into his eyes
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Saw a sparkle that she’d never seen before
\nThey’d been friends since wearing nappies sharing gurgling and cries
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 But suddenly she noticed something more<\/p>\n
He was thinking Toffee Ripple is a taste to give the gods
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 When he noticed she was not a little girl
\nThey’d been best of friends forever sharing all their odds and sods
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Now he found his world descending in a whirl<\/p>\n
While the sun considered setting in a blaze of sky-blue-pink
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 They were each aware of something very new
\nHe was shy and rather awkward but she’d just begun to think
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 “When it comes to boys, you know, I think he’d do”<\/p>\n
He sat licking very slowly, just a reason not to speak
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 While his eyes saw she had grown in eighteen years
\nShe was busily not standing as her knees felt very weak
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 And she didn’t want to show him all her fears<\/p>\n
When at last the bowls were empty and the sun worked overtime
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 There were impulses they couldn’t hide away
\nWhen a kiss is full of passion (hints of toffee and of lime)
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 There is not a lot the kissers need to say<\/p>\n
Even now there are no changes they love kisses and ice-cream
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 And their children are out eating with their friends
\nWhile these sweethearts still can’t fathom what first tempted them to dream
\n\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 And do sweet unhurried love songs have no ends<\/p>\n
