\nIt’s the very early morning and the World’s been touched by frost
\nAnd I wish my “on-call” number had been thrown away or lost
\nThough the robin still keep singing it’s a very lonely sight
\nWhen you’re woken by a phone call and you mind screams “it’s still night”<\/p>\n
It’s the very early morning and the World is still asleep
\nThough the dark is disappearing while the tree’s long shadows creep
\nIf the New Year starts this early is there any honest hope
\nThat it’s gonna be a good ‘un, or I’m even going to cope<\/p>\n
It’s the very early morning and I’m heading back to bed
\nI’ve identified the problem and I wish one colleague dead
\nI’ve a cup of tea to soothe me and I’ve almost closed my eyes
\nPretty soon I will be dreaming and I KNOW you’ll sympathise …<\/p>\n
