\nBefore the Archduke Ferdinand
\nConspired with persons underhand,
\nTo spread the tse-tse fly through Congo’s hills,
\nHe tried to circumnavigate,
\nTo earn a Scout certificate,
\nFor spreading awful parasites and ills.<\/p>\n
The melting ice-caps of the Sun
\nProvided us with piles of fun,
\nUntil the winter freeze refroze them all.
\nSo now we’re surfing on the Moon,
\nThe season lasts through May and June,
\nAnd all of us are having such a ball.<\/p>\n
Inconsequential ponderings
\nAnd unintended wanderings,
\nCreate a metaphysical array;
\nDon’t ever underestimate
\nThe men who insubstantiate
\nThe principles we give away each day.<\/p>\n
Next week we may polymerise
\nThe monomers that sterilize
\nThe vaccine that safeguards the president,
\nWe’ll post it off with DHL,
\nAddressed to “Noble Leader, Hell”,
\nAnd keep receipts to show that it was sent.<\/p>\n
Nonsensical is right for me,
\nNot elevated poetry,
\nShakespeareans can grumble all they like.
\nSuch nincompoops write boring tracts
\nThat obfuscate important facts,
\nSo if you meet one say, “Get on yer Bike!”<\/p>\n
The superficiality
\nThat keeps away reality
\nIs all I have that almost keeps me sane.
\nI’ll offer this in my defence,
\nIt’s far more fun than common sense,
\nAnd nothing like as lethal to the brain.<\/p>\n
