It’s Not His Fault!

\nWe each of us get older every year
\nA daft idea but everyone complies
\nThe time must come retirement’s getting near
\nYour savings plans succumbed to many lies
\nI’m pretty sure he’d hate it if I mention
\nThe first thing Gordon did was pinch your pension<\/p>\n
We had it good, the end of boom and bust
\nAll Gordon’s work, no others lent a hand
\nSo Gordon is the one you have to trust
\nThe rest of them will never understand
\nSo now the boom has bust he thinks that we
\nShould blame it on the World’s economy<\/p>\n
He spent and spent and borrowed all he could
\nThe other stuff he left to Tony Blair
\nThe only things that Gordon did were good
\nTo blame him for the lies is most unfair
\nAnd borrowing when you’re rich can’t hurt you more
\nThan paying back with interest when you’re poor<\/p>\n
The regulations that our Gordon wrote
\nWhen FSA replaced the B of E
\nWere meant to win each wealthy banker’s vote
\nThey can’t be blamed for current penury
\nThe bankers lent more than they could afford
\nBut now they have our cash they feel restored<\/p>\n
You have to see it isn’t Gordon’s fault,
\nThe things he’s done have all been good and nice
\nHe sold the gold we once kept in a vault
\nFor rather less than half its current price
\nBut it’s OK as long as Labour lose
\nThere’s no more weird excuses they can use<\/p>\n
The schools don’t teach our kids but it’s OK
\nThe forces don’t need guns or boats or planes
\nThe losses for the taxpayers today
\nTranslate directly into others’ gains
\nSo please don’t blame it all on Gordon Brown
