\nWhen the sun shines on the city
\nThere’s a lot that can be said for this old town
\nIt is so far from a pity
\nThat the girls are very pretty
\nAnd the sight of them will never bring me down<\/p>\n
On a stroll beside the river
\nYou may often feel a shiver
\nThat suggests the scene has broken through your heart
\nAll the bustle can deliver
\nQuite a boost to any giver
\nOf a little bit of love to every part<\/p>\n
There are foolish tourists shopping
\nThough the price is never dropping
\nThey are taking home a slice of who knows what
\nWhile their children run round popping
\nLittle bubbles they’ve been dropping
\nFrom the bubble-gun that one of them has got<\/p>\n
There are ladies busy walking
\nLittle dogs while they are talking
\nOn an iphone in the latest shade of blue
\nAnd a radio is squawking
\nSomething said by Stephen Hawing
\nAs a taxi driver’s learning something new<\/p>\n
And your feeling glad you sat you
\nDown beside this soldier’s statue
\nAs the world is walking by to pass the time
\nWhen the trees throw pollen at you
\nYou emit a raucous atchoo
\nThen continue to compose a little rhyme<\/p>\n
Yes it ain’t the worst of places
\nFilled with interesting faces
\nAll with stories you invent but cannot know
\nSome of living’s finest grace is
\nFound inside my home’s embraces
\nFor a Londoner there’s no place else to go!<\/p>\n
