\nI love to sit and watch the passing world,
\nTo know that I am not the only one.
\nYet I prefer to stay here warmly curled
\nPretending adult life has not begun.<\/p>\n
I see the shapes of other people’s lives
\nAnd understand that they may be like me;
\nContent to know that some may need their wives
\nBut in themselves content to simply be.<\/p>\n
I want to know that there is space enough
\nFor solitude away from all the rest.
\nHumanity is easy to rebuff
\nWhen you have seen its answers to the test.<\/p>\n
