The World is not the way it used to be
\nI’m sure we thought that it could never change
\nOur foolish fear put limits on the free
\nWhile half the World thought freedom far too strange<\/p>\n
And now I’m flying high above a land\u00a0
\nMy younger self could never even name
\nThe pace of life is hard to understand
\nPerhaps the bloody Internet’s to blame<\/p>\n
It isn’t right there’s centuries to go
\nWe need to learn the ways to be the best
\nBut deep red dawn has given such a show
\nThat maybe I believe we’ll do the rest<\/p>\n
If fifty years can alter everything
\nI wonder what another few will bring

\nTashkent, skirting the dawn on a flight from London to Beijing, DAMN the world
