Pointless wordplay

\nWhen a thing is very little
\nThen it’s called a jot or tittle
\nAnd it matters not the least or so they say
\nBut if you aren’t huge and lumpy
\nOr a gallon over dumpy
\nThen you may believe that titchy is the way
\nIf the words inside start playing
\nThen you’ll find your mind is straying
\nDown an avenue or two you’ve never strolled
\nAnd you may consider writing
\nSomething strangely unexciting
\nWhile your impish fingertips are uncontrolled
\nNow I’m sure you are resisting
\nWhat these digits are insisting
\nIs a work of grave and noble lofty thought
\nBut forget it you can’t best ’em
\nAnd it’s crazy to arrest ’em
\nJust for following their fairly harmless sport
\nSo give in and just enjoy it
\nYou’ve discretion so employ it
\nYou can always claim the cat jumped on the keys
\nAnd it may start people’s giggles
\nAs they watch your pointless wriggles
\nWhile you hide from all the critics who will tease
\nPoetry don’t need no meaning
\nIf the letters are careening
\nInto something like an order on the page
\nNow I’ll stop this load of twaddle
\nAnd I’ll walk or maybe waddle
\nTo make tea, I haven’t had one in an age!<\/p>\n
