It’s Raining

\nIt’s time to go home so it’s raining,
\nNot drizzle, it’s hosing it down.
\nMy colleagues have started complaining,
\nThere’s quite a good chance they will drown.<\/p>\n
This morning the sky was so pretty —
\nWith scarcely a cloud to be seen,
\nBut now the best car for this city
\nIs a boat or a small submarine.<\/p>\n
The street boasts a stream of umbrellas,
\nFrom black to the screamingest pink,
\nAnd not a few wet suited fellas
\nApproaching the pub for a drink.<\/p>\n
The cars are all spraying these walkers,
\nWho look unamused if not worse,
\nThe victims as well as the stalkers,
\nLook daggers and mutter a curse.<\/p>\n
If this is the last time you read me,
\nYou better assume that I’m dead.
\nThe poet you choose to succeed me
\nWill need a more waterproof head!<\/p>\n
