she&#8217;d be his perfect wife<br \/>\nIf he went out to win the daily race<br \/>\nShe&#8217;d be at home to back him on the best days of his life<br \/>\nA well bred smile forever on her face<br \/>\nAnd all she ever wanted was the Moon and half the stars<br \/>\nThe Sun all day, the milky way at night<br \/>\nThe world&#8217;s most famous rock gods playing love songs on guitars<br \/>\nA life of relaxation and delight<br \/>\nHe thought she&#8217;d make him happy they would share romantic times<br \/>\nHow could he know the future was a field of unmown crimes?<\/p>\n<p>In whirlwind days of dating she enraptured all his friends<br \/>\nAnd smiled her way inside his parent&#8217;s hearts<br \/>\nHe wasn&#8217;t tall and handsome but a million makes amends<br \/>\nAnd so she learnt the oldest of the arts<br \/>\nAnd all she ever wanted was to see Montego Bay<br \/>\nAboard a yacht where she would be the queen<br \/>\nWith cold champagne and lobster to distract her days away<br \/>\nA life forever easy and serene<br \/>\nHe thought she&#8217;d make him happy, fill his days and nights with dreams<br \/>\nHe never guessed a future of frustrated silent screams<\/p>\n<p>Their wedding was expensive but a girl deserves the best<br \/>\nA coach and six, with flunkeys wearing silk<br \/>\nHer dress would mark a princess as more regal than the rest<br \/>\nIt&#8217;s by Lacroix or someone of his ilk<br \/>\nAnd all she ever wanted was to win her childish game<br \/>\nBe better than her schoolmates on their scale<br \/>\nTo own a string of horses and to wear a famous name<br \/>\nA life where she was never seen to fail<br \/>\nHe thought she really loved him as he loved her in his turn<br \/>\nHe&#8217;d have their years of marriage to reflect on life and learn<\/p>\n<p>In time he saw the tarnish on her artificial face<br \/>\nThe hollow words she offered as they passed<br \/>\nThe looks of blank indiff&#8217;rence that should put him in his place<br \/>\nShe&#8217;d won her man and thought it had to last<br \/>\nAnd all he&#8217;d ever wanted was a happy loving home<br \/>\nWith children and some pets to keep him sane<br \/>\nInstead he found a statue who believed he&#8217;d never roam<br \/>\nAnd maybe he would buckle from the strain<br \/>\nShe thought he didn&#8217;t matter that she got to make the rules<br \/>\nShe didn&#8217;t know that sometimes simple truths are seen by fools<\/p>\n<p>He met another lady who was plainer by a mile<br \/>\nWho made him tea and listened when he spoke<br \/>\nShe didn&#8217;t ask for money just to see him wear a smile<br \/>\nAnd only laughed when she could see the joke<br \/>\nShe didn&#8217;t dream of castles but of standing holding hands<br \/>\nOf seeing stars not locking them away<br \/>\nAnd he began to question, see what Cupid understands<br \/>\nThat life is not rehearsing for a play<br \/>\nHis ex got half his money and she kept her hollow life<br \/>\nAnd he got all he&#8217;d dreamed
