One Friday Night

\n‘ Was walking home on Friday night
\nOut side a beer or two
\nI saw a most amazing sight
\nThat you may misconstrue
\nA little man all dressed in green
\nDescended from a strange machine<\/p>\n
The road was dark that Friday night
\nI’d had a beer or three
\nAnd as I passed the building site
\nHe turned to look at me
\nThe little man had ears that spun
\nAnd in one hand he held a gun<\/p>\n
I wasn’t scared that Friday night
\nBuoyed by a beer or four
\nSo through my somewhat fuzzied sight
\nI thought I would ignore
\nThe flashing words that filled his eyes
\nA neon sign in weird disguise<\/p>\n
There was no Moon that Friday night
\nTo see my beer or five
\nBut I could see he’d changed the site
\nI’d soon be not alive
\nI guessed that he had hatched a plan
\nTo probe and scan my inner man<\/p>\n
Would I survive that Friday night
\nMe and my beer or six
\nThe aliens around the site
\nMay soon get up to tricks
\nThe leader waved and came to talk
\nHe used a bouncy spaceman walk<\/p>\n
I looked at him that Friday night
\nHelped by a beer or seven
\nHis stripy nose was quite a sight
\nThe only one in Devon
\nI’m sure I understood each word
\nThough you may think that thought absurd<\/p>\n
Then on that lonely Friday night
\nWith just a beer or eight
\nA friend of mine came into site
\nHe’d share my dreadful fate
\nBut he was not a man for fear
\nHe offered all of us more beer<\/p>\n
And now we meet each Friday night
\nTo share a beer or nine
\nThe aliens (from planet Syte)
\nAgree that beer’s divine
\nI don’t drink beer to seek release
\nI’m drinking for galactic peace!<\/p>\n
