\nReality is hard to comprehend —
\nWe only see a corner of the truth.
\nThe clearest clues defeat the honest sleuth
\nWho buys the lies that others recommend.<\/p>\n
The lazy way’s to back each passing trend,
\nDue diligence seems pointlessly uncouth.
\nThe rumour mill can boast a sharper tooth
\nThan evidence that shows another end.<\/p>\n
Our press is filled with nuclear alarm,
\nThree minor burns outweigh the earthquake dead.
\nHow many more will suffer fatal harm,
\nIf we return to burning coal instead?<\/p>\n
The Fukushima fires provoke our fear
\nBut smuts and ash kill thousands every year.<\/p>\n

\nEven including the disaster at Chernobyl, hundreds more die for every Megawatt
\nof coal fired electricity than for nuclear (the UN estimates 13,500 a year in
\nthe US alone! Against a total nuclear death toll of around 10,000 in 60 years,
\n(most of those not killed by Chernobyl being uranium miners, and that’s much
\nsafer than mining coal). Renewables are no better, burst damns in China killed
\nover 100,000.<\/p>\n
Yes the nuclear plants were badly designed, but a melt-down isn’t a nuclear
\nbomb, it is some very hot metal burning through concrete into a hole in the
\nground. So far three workers have been sent to hospital for the equivalent of
