\nThough everyone you meet has had a mother
\nThat’s not a cause for them to beat the drum
\nBut I’ve a boast that betters any other
\nMy mother’s not a mother, she’s a Mum<\/p>\n
When I was small she saw that I was started
\nAlong the road to where I had to be
\nDespite me deeds my Mum stayed open hearted
\nFor fifty years she’s been my certainty<\/p>\n
If we were ill she nursed without complaining
\nShe lead the cheers when we were on the field
\nShe helped us pull whenever we were straining
\nMy Mum’s the only prize I’ll never yield<\/p>\n
Today’s your day, sit back and have a rest
\nWith love to you, The Mum who’s still the best!<\/p>\n
