Magpie Madness

\nThe guinea pigs were sitting in the garden,
\nInside their run that sits out on the grass.
\nA magpie seemed to say, “I beg your pardon,
\nYou’re in the way, please move I want to pass.”<\/p>\n
The guinea pigs were not the least bit worried,
\nThey carried on the way they always do,
\nThey saw no reason lunchtime should be hurried,
\nHowever many birds may make a queue.<\/p>\n
The magpie hopped and quickly grew indignant —
\nHe clearly felt he had the right of way.
\nHis gestures seemed increasingly malignant,
\n“How dare these cavies say they’re gonna stay!”<\/p>\n
It took a while before he understood,
\nYou can’t out-sit a run of wire and wood!<\/p>\n

\nIt was really very amusing, he hopped up to the wire, peered in, hopped away,
\ntried all different speeds, spreading his wings and even squawking, but the
