\nThough love survives the worst of times
\nIt can’t outlast them all.
\nSome dreadful unromantic crimes
\nCan see its castle fall.<\/p>\n
The warmth of love will seem like ice
\nWhen cloaked in jealous green,
\nWhat most will see as “Being nice”
\nIs turned to “Being mean”.<\/p>\n
A simple truth’s a dreadful lie;
\nThe kindest word a knife,
\nAnd heartfelt love is left to die
\nWhen envy rules your life.<\/p>\n
No other heart is yours to rule,
\nNo other must obey.
\nIt takes a special kind of fool
\nTo throw a love away.<\/p>\n
Why search for pain in every glance
\nSeek darkness in the light
\nSometimes a dance is just a dance
\nAnd not a cause to fight.<\/p>\n
For me true love contains no rage
\nIt’s trust, it’s warmth, it’s free.
\nA songbird in a golden cage
