\nI hardly see the door on summer days,
\nWhen life is good there’s far too much to do.
\nYet even now the haunting thought remains,
\nAnother way that’s almost out of view.<\/p>\n
Life gallops by and I see straight ahead,
\nNo time to stray down ill-remembered roads.
\nFrom morning’s rush to climbing back to bed,
\nWhen time is full, I need no other loads.<\/p>\n
But there are days that weary into weeks
\nAnd weeks that stretch to uninspiring years.
\nMy path is flat, no views from towering peaks
\nMy every step an echo of my fears.<\/p>\n
When I forget what all the fuss is for
\nI’ll find the time to open up that door.<\/p>\n

\nI rarely write free verse, but yesterday I wrote this and this is a sonnet
