\nIt’s safe to say that I shall not forget you
\nWhatever else is waiting on the way<\/p>\n
You aren’t the cause of all my faults and failings
\nI’m not to blame for greying all your hair
\nThough you were there from my first aimless flailings
\nAnd it was you who helped me be aware<\/p>\n
I love you though you gave me irksome brothers
\nA sister who’d outpunch a heavyweight
\nI’m pretty sure I’ve got the best of mothers
\nA councillor, a teacher and “a mate”<\/p>\n
So year by year I’ll wish you all the best
\nThe mother who is far above the rest!<\/p>\n
